TEXAS SOVEREIGNTY
‘Let Texas run Texas’ is one of Brandon’s guiding principles as a lawmaker. Since first being elected he has sponsored resolutions to establish Texas’ sovereignty under the Tenth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, and was a co-author of legislation to include Texas in the call for a Convention of States. Senator Creighton strongly believes in the 10th Amendment, and passed SCR 11, reaffirming Texas’ Sovereignty from the Federal Government.

BORDER SECURITY
There is a humanitarian and security crisis at our southern border, and Senator Creighton has lead on ensuring that the state keep our commitment to strong border security. Senator Creighton authored Legislation to complete the Texas Border Wall, and has Joint-Authored Laws that fund Operation Lone Star and Efforts to Stop Illegal Immigration. The Texas border plan includes a record $6.5 billion investment in border security to complete the wall and support troopers. It makes illegal entry into the state a criminal offense, the strongest border security law in the country, despite the opposition from open border Democrats. Operation Lone Star empowers law enforcement to return migrants to their origin and designates Mexican drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations.

SECOND AMENDMENT
Protecting Texan’s 2nd Amendment rights is a top-priority for Senator Creighton, and he has an ‘A’ rating from the National Rifle Association and the Texas State Rifle Association. Election Integrity
Senator Creighton is a champion of comprehensive election integrity reforms. He passed SB 1387, ensuring that voting machines are American-made and free from foreign interference. He also co-authored the strongest election integrity legislation in the nation, ensuring that your vote is protected and only legal ballots are counted to maintain the security of our elections.

Education Reform
As Chairman of Senate Education, Senator Creighton has fought for ambitious reforms for the 6 million students in Texas classrooms. In 2023, he authored HB 1605, a bill that creates high quality curriculum for all Texas students, and provides a critical time-saving tool for classroom teachers. Creighton firmly believes that the future of Texas begins in the classroom, and that is why he is a strong advocate for focusing on the fundamentals of reading and math–keeping woke out of the classroom– specifically his 2021 bill banning Critical Race Theory from being taught in Texas schools.
Senator Creighton, as author of the Texas Parental Bill of Rights, has fought to empower students and families with school choice. He also authored the Texas Teacher Bill of Rights, providing across the board raises for classroom teachers and increasing the Teacher Incentive Allotment which creates bonus opportunities for high-performing educators.
Higher Edcuation
Since being appointed Chairman of Senate Higher Education in 2019, Senator Creighton has passed the most sweeping reforms to Texas colleges and universities in a generation. Recognizing that Texas’ economy depends on a skilled workforce, Creighton has passed several initiatives that create workforce training pipelines for high-paying careers.
Creighton also knows that higher education should focus on education and innovation, which is why he was the architect and author of the strongest ban on DEI in the nation, eliminating Diversity, Equity and Inclusion programs from Texas public universities. Taxpayer funded institutions are no place for 'woke' ideology being promoted by radical faculty. Since it's passage in 2023, several states have followed Texas' lead in eliminating DEI on college campuses.

PRO BUSINESS
Senator Creighton understands that the government does not create jobs and that for our economy to remain the envy of the nation-- the government needs to step aside. In 2019, he authored and passed the ‘most pro-business package of bills,’ according to the National Federation of Independent Business. In 2023, he passed the Texas Regulatory Consistency Act, preventing job-killing ordinances on small businesses. As a small government conservative, Senator Creighton will always advocate for policies that foster a strong business climate in the state and provide job creators with the freedom to grow their businesses.

TAX REFORM & RELIEF
After years of big talk and little results, the Texas Legislature achieved the most significant property tax relief in history in 2023, building on the largest cuts from 2019. Senator Creighton, a chief negotiator for key bills, has been instrumental in increasing homeowners' homestead exemptions by 300% in four years. Texas homeowners and small businesses now have greater power to fight their appraisals and participate in the process. Additionally, Republican tax policies have created an environment where local governments and ISDs are incentivized to prevent rate increases. Senator Creighton has consistently fought to lower and eliminate taxes, helping Texans keep more of their hard-earned money. As a co-author of the Constitutional Amendment making a state income tax illegal, he has ensured that Texas families and small businesses thrive. Following the Covid shutdowns, Senator Creighton played a key role in providing the certainty and low taxes needed for Texas small businesses to invest and grow, and in passing laws preventing government shutdowns of private businesses in the future.

STANDING WITH ISRAEL
As a committed supporter of the state of Israel, Senator Creighton passed legislation that prohibits the state from contracting with companies that boycott Israel. BDS (Boycott, Divest, Sanctions) is a movement to deny the sovereign state of Israel, and Senator Creighton’s legislation makes it illegal for the state to do business with companies that support discriminating against Israel. Chairman Creighton has passed several bills to affirm Texas’ support of Israel, including preventing the state from contracting with companies that support BDS policies.
FLOOD MITIGATION

Senate District 4 has been ground zero for devasting storms and historic flooding-- that is why following Hurricane Harvey, Senator Creighton passed landmark flood mitigation legislation to rebuild and ensure the state is more resilient in future storms. Lt. Governor Dan Patrick hailed Brandon’s legislation as ‘One of the most important bills this body has ever passed for the entire state of Texas and our future. In the worst days of Hurricane Harvey, Senator Creighton worked with Kingwood first responders to bring people to safety and was instrumental in bringing clean water to Beaumont following the storm.

But we know that the next storm is when, not if, and that is why Sen. Creighton has secured been the leader in securing funds for the Lake Houston Dam Gates, was a co-author of the Statewide Flood Plan, and has passed several critical bills to ensure the state is more resilient. Most recently, Senator Creighton was appointed to serve on the Senate Special Committee on Hurricane and Tropical Storm Preparedness, Recovery, and Electricity.
