Yesterday, on Texas Independence Day, I was at The Alamo for a meeting of The 1836 Project Committee. The work we’re doing to preserve and honor sacrifice and history that led to Texas Independence rests with each of us, and I know we are up to the task. Here, like nowhere else, walking the grounds is like taking a step back in time. Hearing the words of Travis, Crockett, and Bowie coming to life reminds us all that the fight for Liberty must be won again and again with valor and determination.
