Questions about recent elections require that Texas continue to ensure the highest level of security for voting. Texas has done a lot to prevent fraud, but we won’t be complacent and will take every necessary action to empower all legal votes.

This includes:

• Government-issued photo ID requirement for Absentee Ballot requests
• Preventing rogue counties from enacting universal vote by mail
• Security measures including paper ballot trail for elections
• Additional funding and training for county election workers and poll watchers
• Formation of an Election Integrity Division in the Office of the Attorney General with powers to investigate and prosecute voter fraud

A democracy can’t survive if citizens feel disenfranchised, so making Texas elections the most secure in the nation to empower voters and the democratic process is of paramount importance.
