Writing the state budget is the most critical work we do as lawmakers, and I’m grateful to be part of the Senate Finance Committee to advance a conservative, balanced budget. In contrast, Washington, D.C. has not passed a balanced budget since 2001. Texas will again lead the nation on economic recovery, and a balanced budget is key to this effort.
