In order to best represent Senate District 4, I need to work with all local communities to understand their highest priorities and issues.

On January 19, I was invited by the West Chambers County Chamber of Commerce to attend their annual business awards. I was happy to be there to congratulate the local small businesses and hear their concerns for a strong economy.

Here are the West Chambers County 2020 Top Businesses:

Small Business of the Year: Floyds Seafood Mont Belvieu
Business of the Year: Patients Emergency Room
Person of the Year: Penny Durant with H-E-B

Barbers Hill ISD was awarded the Holly Jackson Outstanding Achievement Award, Judge Blake Sylvia was recognized for his outstanding dedication and community service to West Chambers County in 2020. The WCCCC recognized Adam Wheeless with Gallant Builders, LLC, for his service as Chairman of the Board in 2020.

And congratulations to Scott Swigert, Mont Belvieu Assistant City Manager, who will serve as the 2021 Chairman of the Board.
