On September 22, 2020 the Texas Historical Commission voted to keep the Alamo Cenotaph exactly where it is. I wanted to share with you not only how important it was that they make the right decision, but how it mattered personally to me and countless other Texans.

We may all see angry mobs tearing down the touchstones and monuments to our history, but even now, there is a still larger part of committed citizens won’t just stand by while others work to erase the past.

My family and so many others helped build our great state, and our love of Texas and what our state represents – independence, liberty, and perseverance – means that we will always stand firm to preserve our treasured history.
