One year ago today, I took an oath. With my hand on a family Bible, I swore to faithfully execute my duties as your Texas Senator. That moment was also the culmination of a lot of hard work and sacrifice, and I want to thank you for your trust and support.
When I took my oath, I promised to fight for freedom. And I helped cut taxes for all Texans.
When I campaigned for this office, I promised to fight for life. And I stood up and called for investigations into Planned Parenthood after the recent, heinous revelations.
And when I decided to become a public servant, I promised I would always fight for liberty. I continue that fight today by standing against Obamacare, standing against illegal immigration and standing against an overreaching federal government.
The last 12 months have provided some of my best memories as a public servant. Soon we will be campaigning and reminding the voters across our district that I must keep fighting for the conservative principles we hold dear – life, liberty and freedom. I look forward to your continuing support and prayers.
